POSITION: Operations Director
DEPARTMENT: Operations
STATUS & FLSA: Salaried-Exempt
REPORTS TO: Lead Pastor
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Operations Director oversees the administrative and logistical functions of the church to ensure smooth operations and effective support for ministry activities. This role involves being responsible for the oversight of all church operations, including facilities, HR, IT and other administrative tasks to facilitate the achievement of the church's mission and objectives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
● Facilities Management: Supervise maintenance and upkeep of church facilities, including buildings, grounds, and equipment. Coordinate scheduling and use of facilities for worship services, events, and programs. Oversee safety and security protocols to ensure a safe environment for staff and congregants.
● Human Resources: Manage recruitment, onboarding, and training of staff and volunteers. Maintain personnel records and ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
● Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to church leadership, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and coordinating communication. Manage church databases, records, and filing systems to ensure accuracy and accessibility. Assist with event planning and coordination as needed.
● Technology and Information Systems: Oversee the implementation and maintenance of technology systems, including computers and software. Oversee that church personnel are equipped with necessary computer and technology tools needed for their ministries, the Church Management System is maintained and all communication systems supported, with IT Director
● Policy Development and Compliance: Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure effective and compliant operations. Stay informed about legal and regulatory requirements affecting church operations and make recommendations for compliance.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Work with Executive Team to clarify and advance vision, goals, and strategy
● Recruit, equip and empower volunteers and leaders to further the operational aspects of the ministry and mission

College degree

● Exceptional model of personal integrity
● Minimum two years of experience in Operations preferred
● Knowledge of appropriate computer skills and procedures
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
● This role operates primarily within a church environment, with regular office hours supplemented by evening and weekend events.
● Flexibility is required to accommodate the varying schedules and needs of church members and volunteers.
● Occasional travel may be necessary for meetings, conferences, or community outreach events.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
● This position is 25 hours per week. A typical work week is Sunday-Wednesday with Monday being a work-from-home day.
